Description from the seller

UV checked! Very good condition!

Covered porcelain teapot with enamel decoration of the "Hundred Children" motif
China, Qing Dynasty, Guangxu (1875–1908)
Height: 9 cm
Width: 9 cm and 13 cm

Porcelain with enamel-on-glaze decoration, so-called famille rose (fencai).
Cylindrical low body resting on a slight circular foot, fitted with a short pouring spout and a rectangular handle. The lid is domed with a vent pierced through it, topped by a knob molded in the shape of a stylized peach.

The teapot bears the classic and very popular theme of the "Hundred Children" (Baizi Tu).
The decoration, treated in a soft palette of celadon greens, pinks, purples and oranges, represents a continuous frieze of children (play scenes and processions) in a stylized landscape with vegetation, banners and ritual accessories. The treatment is light and narrative, with fine brown-black outlines.

The base bears a red four-character seal mark in iron red.

Condition:
Very good overall condition.
No cracks and no restorations! Observed under UV.
The small hole visible on the lid is a deliberate steam vent and not a firing defect.

Provenance: Portuguese Collection - Kanaka The Collection

Shipping: Sent with UPS with insurance and tracking
