Obverse with the bust of the Portuguese Republic looking to the left, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with laurel leaves and ears of wheat. Perimeter legend: REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA. Date 1916 at the bottom. Reverse with the coat of arms of Portugal centered over an armillary sphere, surrounded by two laurel branches joined by a ribbon. At the bottom, the inscription 20 CENTAVOS. Coin minted in the context of the Portuguese First Republic, a period characterized by political instability and major economic changes. Nevertheless, this piece reflects a classic design with strong national symbolic meaning. This coin is encapsulated by NGC with grade MS61, which guarantees its excellent condition.
