Camilo's work builds an intimate territory where the everyday is transformed into emotional shelter. His paintings invite us to stop time and to inhabit domestic scenes charged with silence, harmony, and a serene contemplation of life.

Cats resting beside open windows, women who read, wait or hold flowers, tables with fruit, jugs and wine glasses: all these elements form a folkloric universe that does not describe reality literally, but reinterprets it from memory, calm, and sensitivity.

Color is one of the great protagonists of his pictorial language. Camilo works with a palette clearly influenced by Fauvism, where intense tones — reds, yellows, greens, and vibrant blues — are released from the descriptive function to become vehicles of emotion. Color does not imitate: it expresses. It does not shade: it beats.

Formally, the figures appear with an elegant synthesis, with defined contours and simplified volumes, which reinforces the sense of order and balance. This economy of form, far from reducing depth, enhances the expressiveness of the whole, allowing each scene to breathe and to dialogue with the viewer from stillness.

The cats — constant presences in his work — function as symbols of introspection, freedom, and shared domestication. They are not merely animals: they are guardians of the home, silent witnesses to a rich and peaceful inner life. The female figures, for their part, appear wrapped in an atmosphere of delicacy and contemplation, harmoniously integrated into the space they inhabit.

Camilo is a graduate of Art Instructor in the city of Las Tunas, Cuba, a training that is evident in the technical mastery and conceptual coherence of his work. He currently lives and works between Havana and Russia, an experience that has enriched his perspective and broadened his cultural dialogue. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Cuba and abroad, and his works are part of private collections in Russia and in several European countries.

In a world that is accelerated and saturated with loud images, Camilo's painting offers the opposite: pause, warmth, and serene beauty. His work does not seek to impact through noise, but to endure through emotion.

The work adheres to a neo-Fauvist style, characterized by the arbitrary and emotional use of color over naturalistic representation. Using acrylic or oil with a loose, textural brushstroke, the artist builds volume through strong chromatic contrasts, where warm earth tones (yellows and oranges) clash with the deep blue of the walls. The composition makes use of the motif of the picture within the picture through the open window, creating a symbolic transition between the intimate refuge of reading and the vastness of the outside world. The painter seeks to convey a sense of expansive serenity; the female figure, with her back to the viewer, acts as an anchor of calm that demonstrates how the act of reading allows one to inhabit simultaneously a warm physical space and an infinite intellectual horizon.
