619 AR - Military miniature figurine - Silver

Splendid miniature cannon, fully made in 800 silver, with clearly visible official hallmarks: “800” (the purity of the silver) and “619 AR”, the identifying mark of an artisanal workshop registered with the Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo, an important Italian jewelry district.
This exceptionally crafted miniature reproduces in reduced scale a Prussian field cannon, presumably inspired by a historical model produced by Krupp in the second half of the nineteenth century. The structure and the presence of a rear breech with a “Knebel” lever make it a refined reproduction of the famous breech-loading artillery pieces used from the late 1800s to World War I.
