Kenwood KT-5500 – Vintage AM/FM Stereo Tuner – Silver Face – Made in Japan – c. 1970
Beautiful and characterful specimen of the Kenwood KT-5500 AM/FM Stereo Tuner, manufactured in Japan by Trio-Kenwood Corporation. A classic hi-fi component from the golden era of the Japanese audio industry, dating from around 1970.
The KT-5500 features the characteristic silver-face design from the 1970s, with a front of brushed aluminium, a large central tuning knob and a wide analog frequency scale. Particularly attractive are the two separate analog meters for Signal and Tuning, allowing both the signal strength and the tuning accuracy to be read.
The tuner includes, among others:
* AM and FM reception
* FM Stereo
* FM Mono
* Auto/Muting
* Analog Signal and Tuning meters
* Large manual precision tuning
* 75 and 300 Ohm FM antenna connectors
* AM antenna connector
* Stereo RCA output, left/right

On the rear there is the original rating plate mentioning Kenwood KT-5500 – Trio-Kenwood Corp. – Made in Japan, serial number 721100.
It is in neat vintage condition with normal, age-related signs of use. The aluminium front is particularly attractive and the original controls are present.
