DESCRIPTION
Canon's 50mm F1.4 in Leica screw mount was among the finest fast normal lenses of its day, built to compete directly with Leitz and Zeiss and sold in large numbers to photojournalists working with screw-mount rangefinders. This is an early example, engraved 'Canon Camera Co., Japan', which dates it to the first years of production. Its Gauss-type design gives the smooth, slightly warm rendering that has made Canon LTM glass a favourite among modern digital rangefinder users, and the L39 screw mount fits Leica screw bodies directly or Leica M bodies with an inexpensive adapter.

- Optics: No fungus. No haze. No separation. The rear element is clear. There are a few light cleaning marks and slight coating wear on the front element.
