Centre table - Hardwood - Antique capital for base

The surface is fixed to the base (an antique carved capital inverted) by a threaded rod inserted into a steel plate heat-welded to the glass. It is unscrewable. The capital is carved in wood; it presumably came from an interior wooden furnishing. Possible but undocumented provenance: the Aula Magna, University of Bologna. Tempered glass, 1 cm thick for the shelf. The capital shows signs of time and neglect; the workmanship is rough, but the carving is very dense, with acanthus and classical-inspired mouldings.
