Here are 4 French cars from the Blake and Mortimer adventures, famous characters by Edgar P. Jacobs, gathered in the collection of the fantastical vehicles of the two heroes published by Hachette in 2011.
We find here:
- The black Citroën DS of Dr Claes d'Erckenteel, the Belgian scientist who made our heroes discover the site of the Last Universal and especially the Atomium. The album is "The Sarcophagi of the 6th Continent" where this mythical car is seen wandering across the pages of the book.
- Always a light brown Citroën DS in "The Necklace Case" which leads into darkness and under a driving rain, jeweler Duranton leaving his townhouse; a chase scene follows that is worthy of a Hollywood film but set in the city of Paris!
- A black Peugeot 404 seen in "The Necklace Case" but in the role of a police car that takes Commissioner Pradier as well as Blake and Mortimer to follow Duranton, the jeweler at the heart of the mysterious intrigue that keeps the reader until its resolution!
- A Simca 1300 taxi seen in the album "SOS Meteorites" on the occasion of a dangerous journey through the Parisian capital and an accident that promises to be breathtaking.
Each car is accompanied by its 23-page booklet describing in detail the car, its place in the album and the related adventure with excerpts from panels of the comic. Another bonus, the description of a situation or a portrait of a character encountered by Blake and Mortimer during their wanderings.
Each pair of miniature car and booklet is in a new and pristine condition, never opened nor exhibited.
