1:75 - Shipbuilders ship model - Chasse Marée -Bretagne

Accurate reconstruction of a Chasse-Marée (ventjager), a fast-sailing three-masted logger from southern Brittany, 1866. Pearwood on frame. Scale 1:75. No kit, unique model, owner is the builder. The ventjager was, at a time when caught fish had to be transported quickly to markets (St Nazaire, Bordeaux) without artificial cooling, the designated means to get the catch as quickly as possible from the fisher fleet at sea to shore. The optimal sailing characteristics of the Chasse Mareé led to the use of this type of vessel for smuggling, customs and as an armed privateer (1800). The model has been stored dust-free. Although the object will be packed according to museum requirements, bitter experience shows that, given the vulnerability of such models, pickup in Berkel en Rodenrijs (Rotterdam) is preferable. Delivery to the buyer is negotiable to a limited extent.
