Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Kambaba Jasper bowl, hand-carved from Madagascar, measuring 17.5 cm high, 14 cm wide and 6 cm deep, weighing 1625 kg, with a polished interior and orbicular green, black and olive patterns.
Description from the seller
A beautifully hand-carved Kambaba Jasper bowl, polished to reveal the stone’s characteristic combination of deep green, black and olive tones.
This specimen shows an especially dense and attractive orbicular pattern, with numerous rounded dark formations distributed throughout a fine green matrix. The contrast between the black circular structures and the softer green background creates a highly graphic, almost abstract appearance, making the bowl particularly striking when viewed from above as well as from the side.
Its softly irregular outline gives the piece a more natural and sculptural character than a perfectly symmetrical vessel. The carefully polished interior and rounded edges enhance the depth of the pattern and allow the different mineral structures to remain visible across the entire surface.
Despite its commercial name, Kambaba Jasper is not a true jasper in the strict mineralogical sense. It is generally described as an orbicular, silica-rich metamorphic rock, traditionally associated with fossilised microbial structures and composed mainly of quartz with dark mineral phases.
Thanks to its distinctive natural pattern and refined lapidary finish, this bowl works particularly well as a decorative mineral object, sculptural centerpiece or collector’s piece, combining geological interest with strong visual presence.
