Two beautiful antique bronze mortars with pestles – 1.7 kg – engraved and relief decorations

Set of two antique bronze/brass mortars, each accompanied by its pestle.

The first, about 8 cm high, features an elegant decoration entirely hand-engraved, composed of stylized geometric and botanical motifs. Ancient inscriptions under the base. Weight: 862 g with pestle.

The second, more substantial, is adorned with rich relief molded decor and has two square side handles. Lovely antique patina. Weight: 831 g with pestle.

A very decorative and authentic ensemble, showing the normal age- and use-related traces and irregularities.

Total weight: about 1.7 kg.
Probably late 19th century – first half of the 20th century.
