Nuremberg – Gold ⅛ Ducat Klippe – ND, c. 1700

A miniature gold ⅛ Ducat Klippe issued by the Free Imperial City of Nuremberg.

The reverse depicts the Agnus Dei, the Lamb of God standing on a globe and carrying a banner. The obverse shows the crowned arms of Nuremberg surrounded by palm branches.

Naturally irregular klippe shape with an attractive near-mirror-like lustre.

Provenance: old family collection.

Weight: 0.48 g
Dimensions: approximately 8.12 × 8.47 mm
Thickness: approximately 0.43 mm
