Bruce Weber shot the 2003 calendar in Italy, spending six days along the glorious Cilento coast, south of Amalfi. Various locations were chosen, from Santa Maria di Castellabate to Punta Licosa, also known as "the Promontory of the Sirens," a name inspired by the Homeric legend of the three sirens, Leucosia, Ligea and Partenope, who seduced sailors with their wonderful song, drawing them toward the rocks.

The Pirelli Calendar is an exclusive calendar, released annually since 1964 in a limited edition by the Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli.
