Meccano - Toy - 1920-1930

Large antique Meccano collection in a large three-tier wooden chest weighing 17 kilograms. Dated between 1927-1935.

Huge collection of original Meccano parts stored in a large three-tier wooden chest with trays and compartments. The set appears to have been formed by combining several Meccano sets and extensions, so it does not correspond to a single complete game.

The set is mainly composed of components from the late 1920s and the first half of the 1930s, including pieces from different periods and color schemes characteristic of those years.

The collection includes a large number of Meccano components, including beams and perforated strips, metal plates, structural pieces, wheels with tires, pulleys, gears, axles, transmission elements, supports, fasteners, and numerous mechanical accessories. It also includes several wind-up mechanisms and motors, one of them marked “Meccano Ltd. Liverpool Eng. – Made in England – Pat. No. 21117/12”, interior wooden trays with compartments and an illustrated label Meccano Outfit No. 1 on the inside of the lid.

It is also accompanied by a large amount of period Meccano documentation and manuals, mainly for the Dutch market, including instruction manuals, supplementary manuals, model construction sheets, catalogs of parts and accessories, advertising and Meccano Gilde documentation, among other documents.

Due to the large number of components, the contents have not been inspected or inventoried. The lot is sold with all contents shown in the photographs, which depict the pieces, accessories, motors and documentation included.
