Description from the seller

In this auction, a very beautiful frame originating from England, in ebonized wood, richly finished in gold leaf with carved moldings, including an external twisted cord profile (torciglione), an inner beaded fascia (or gadroon) and geometric grooved fillets that perfectly frame the inner edge.
Characterized by the 'cassettone' technique of fine cabinetmaking, you notice the multi-level structure (bands receding toward the interior), which gives exceptional depth and a three-dimensional effect to the piece that will be housed.
The wooden construction is solid and stable, the corner joints are firmly set. The ebonized finish retains its luster and the gold leaf shows a warm, even patina, free from missing areas or obvious gross restorations.
At the moment it holds a print depicting a renowned work to emphasize its importance, but if requested, we can remove it before shipment.
Careful and fast packing.
Frame height 37 cm x 42 cm
Internal height 19 cm x 24 cm
