AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

19th Century Bone-Handled Corkscrew and Brush, England, c. 1850–1880

A charming English corkscrew and brush combination, dating to the second half of the 19th century, the turned bone handle with moulded concentric bands and fitted with a natural bristle brush, the side mounted with a hand-forged iron corkscrew of open helix form and shaped circular finger guard. The iron retains an attractive aged surface and patination consistent with its period.

An unusual example of Victorian domestic and drinking-related paraphernalia, combining practical functions within a compact object and displaying considerable character from age and use.

Condition: Good antique condition with expected wear, surface marks and patination consistent with age and use. Oxidation to the iron elements and wear to the bristles. A small loss/chip to one end of the bone handle, clearly visible in the photographs. The corkscrew remains intact.
