Bert Stern & Marilyn Monroe - La Dernière Séance, Bert Stern - 2006

Charming illustrated edition of this work that gathers the famous photographs taken by Stern in June 1962, a few weeks before Marilyn Monroe's death, during the mythical Vogue shoot, which became an ultimate testimony of the Hollywood icon -

The shots, both glamorous and intimate, range between sophisticated poses and moments of fragility, revealing a Marilyn who is both star and vulnerable woman, aware of her image yet letting a deep melancholy show through -

It bears witness to Marilyn's posthumous reception, herself a mythic figure whose beauty and fragility fuel an inexhaustible cultural fascination -
