Chair - Beech - Caned seat

Elegant old chair with curved wood and cane seat, characteristic of European furniture inspired by the famous Thonet productions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The chair features a light and harmonious frame, with legs and curved wood elements, a slightly curved backrest adorned with three fine turned bars, and a round natural cane seat.
The lateral curves and the curved stretchers under the seat are particularly representative of the bentwood technique popularized at that time.
Estimated period: circa 1900–1920, subject to the absence of mark or label enabling a more precise attribution.
Style: Thonet style / Viennese bentwood furniture, with Art Nouveau influences.
Wood: probably dark-stained bent beech, a species very commonly used for this type of chair due to its excellent properties for steam bending.
