Lao Zi (Chinese: 老子), originating from (jiaxiang) Henan, Zhoukou, Luyi (河南省周口市鹿邑县), was a Chinese philosopher, who is usually placed in the 6th century BC, during the Spring and Autumn Period, 604 BC - 507 BC. He is, according to Taoism itself, the foremost founder of Taoism. Possibly he lived later, in the 5th or 4th century BC, during the Warring States Period. It is also possible that Lao Zi refers to two or more masters or a school of thought.
The statue is in good used condition with signs of age. (See photos)
