A Belgian ceramic Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) tile by Henri Baudoux & Cie, Brussels, dating from 1900–1910, with a relief floral design, measuring 15.4 × 15.4 cm and 1 cm thick, in good used condition with minor signs of age and spots.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This is an original antique Art Nouveau tile made by Henry Baudoux & Cie around 1905. The decoration of floral motifs (tulip?) is in relief and applied using the dust-pressed technique, in which clay powder is pressed under high pressure into a mold. The tile is in very nice condition with only a larger glaze damage on the right side and some discoloration in the upper right corner; see the detail images. The back is unmarked. I pack the tile(s) with great care, all packages with tracking numbers.

Seller's Story

I have been trading antique tiles for almost 20 years. I sell medieval lead glazed floor tiles. Italian, Spanish and Portuguese tiles from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century. Dutch tiles from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, as well as tiles from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period. I sell at special tile fairs in Germany and England, through Catawiki and eBay and through my website.
