Antique wall table from the Dutch Louis XVI period (circa 1780–1800), primarily solid mahogany with oak in parts, brass mounts and a swivelling leaf, in good used condition, closed dimensions 126 × 55 cm and height 73.5 cm.

An 18th-century wall table with a rotating top, also usable as a writing, gaming, or dining table.
Made during the Dutch Louis XVI period, around 1780–1800.
The table is largely constructed from beautiful high-quality solid mahogany! Only the sides, drawer bottom, and drawer guides are oak.
The leaves of the rotating top remain just as straight and flat as when they were made and retain the original hinges.
The single drawer is front-fixed with hand-forged nails and dovetailed at the back. The drawer still carries the original lock (working key missing) and gilded brass ring fittings decorated with pearl- and leaf borders and flower rosettes.
The left front leg at the top features the original inlaid brass edge guide to prevent the top from turning.
The lower top has slots on the left- and right-sides and an iron eye. Their exact purpose is unknown, but it is likely to hook an extra leaf to extend the table surface for additional guests.
The table rests on square, tapering legs with cannelures and a slightly wider profiled plinth at the bottom.
The entire table features beautiful deep warm contrasting colors, a lovely satin sheen from the authentic wax finish, and has acquired a wonderful patina over the centuries!!!
