This is an original antique Art Nouveau tile made by Manufactures Céramiques d'Hemixem Gilliot & Cie, Hemiksem, Belgium. The decoration of stylized floral motifs is relief-embossed using the dust-pressed technique, in which clay powder is pressed under high pressure into a mold. The tile is in good condition with only some light signs of wear, such as fine scratches in the dark background glaze. I have been trading antique tiles for almost 20 years. I sell medieval lead glazed floor tiles. Italian, Spanish and Portuguese tiles from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century. Dutch tiles from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, as well as tiles from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period. I sell at special tile fairs in Germany and England, through Catawiki and eBay and through my website.
