Description from the seller
a powerful and reliable Akai AM-55 integrated stereophono amplifier. This model hails from the golden era of hi-fi (production year: 1990-1991) and is known for its heavy, solid build quality and warm, detailed sound reproduction.
With an impressive weight of no less than 10.8 kg, this amplifier features a heavy power supply that easily drives larger speakers. The amplifier delivers a stable 2 x 80 watts at 8 ohms, with an extremely low total harmonic distortion of only 0.005%.
Built-in DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter)
Unique for its time is the built-in high-quality DAC. This allows you to connect modern digital sources (such as a streamer, TV, or CD player) directly digitally via the optical (Toslink) or coaxial input. The LED indicators on the front panel neatly display the sampling frequency (32kHz / 44.1kHz / 48kHz).
Technical specifications:
Production period: 1990 - 1991
Weight: 10.8 kg
Dimensions: 425 x 156 x 370 mm
Power: 2 x 80 watts RMS at 8Ω (stereo)
