Traditional Ethiopian Sword "Gurade" from the era (1930s–1910s) – Complete with Original Scabbard
Splendid and authentic specimen of Gurade (Abyssinian/Ethiopian traditional sabre) dating to the first half of the twentieth century (pre-war period / Haile Selassie era). A piece of military history and tribal art with great visual impact and collector value.
Features of the piece:
Type: Ethiopian curved sabre (Gurade).
Origin: Ethiopian Highlands / Horn of Africa (Habesha / Amhara culture).
Era: Early 1900s (circa 1910 - 1930).
Hilt: Typical Abyssinian grip in an "H" shape with pommel, carved from a single piece of darkened hard wood, preserved in excellent condition with a beautiful patina of the era.
Blade: Curved, single-edged with a central fuller, in solid steel with the classic signs of age and period workmanship.
Scabbard: Original leather scabbard worked with the characteristic cross-band wrappings and attachment shoulder strap, complete with metal buckle.
