LOT OF TWO ENCRIERS OF ENLUMINEUR “DOUIA” – FEZ, MOROCCO – 19th CENTURY
Rare lot of two inkstands of Moroccan illuminators called “douïa,” made in Fez earthenware.
The first model features a poly-lobed decoration covered with a green glaze, consisting of a central ink receptacle flanked by three pen-holders.
The second inkstand, in tin glazed pottery with cobalt blue decoration on a cream background, is adorned with stylized floral and foliate motifs. It also includes a central ink receptacle accompanied by three pen-holders.
Work from Fez, Morocco, 19th century.
Good overall condition. Presence of small chips and age-related wear in keeping with its age and use.

	• Green inkstand: height 9.5 cm – width 10 cm

LOT DE DEUX ENCRIERS D’ENLUMINEUR “DOUIA” – FÈS, MAROC – XIXe SIÈCLE
Rare lot de deux encriers d’enlumineur marocains dits « douïa », en faïence de Fès.
Le premier modèle présente un décor polylobé recouvert d’une glaçure verte, composé d’un réceptacle central à encre flanqué de trois porte-kalams.
Le second encrier, en faïence à décor bleu cobalt sur fond crème, est orné de motifs floraux et feuillagés stylisés. Il comprend également un réceptacle central à encre accompagné de trois porte-kalams.
Travail de Fès, Maroc, XIXe siècle.
Bon état général. Présence de petites égrenures et usures anciennes conformes à l’âge et à l’usage.
