LOT OF TWO ENCRIERS OF ENLUMINEUR “DOUIA” – FEZ, MOROCCO – 19th CENTURY
Rare lot of two inkstands of Moroccan illuminators called “douïa,” made in Fez earthenware.
The first model features a poly-lobed decoration covered with a green glaze, consisting of a central ink receptacle flanked by three pen-holders.
The second inkstand, in tin glazed pottery with cobalt blue decoration on a cream background, is adorned with stylized floral and foliate motifs. It also includes a central ink receptacle accompanied by three pen-holders.
