An antique 875 silver pierced serving fork with an enamelled handle, Russian assay marks, dating from the late 19th century, measuring 19.5 cm and weighing 46.22 g.
Description from the seller
Antique 875 Silver Pierced Serving Fork with Enamelled Handle
Russia assay mark, late 19th century, 875/000, and same date marker's mark.
An attractive silver serving Fork, finely worked with an elaborate pierced and engraved bowl decorated with scrolling floral and foliate motifs. The shaped bowl is particularly decorative, with openwork flourishes to the sides.
The long slender handle terminates in a stylised ornamental finial embellished with green and dark enamel, giving the piece a distinctive Eastern or Russian-influenced character.
The stem bears a clearly visible “875” silver fineness mark, corresponding to 875/1000 silver (84 zolotnik equivalent). From the photograph alone, I would avoid assigning a specific country or maker without seeing any additional marks.
Material: 875 silver with enamel decoration
Decoration: Engraved floral and foliate motifs, pierced work and enamelled finial
Period: Probably late 19th to early 20th century
Dimension: 19.5cm
Weight: 46.22g
Sent via UPS with tracking number
Condition: Good antique condition, with expected surface wear, patina and minor signs of use consistent with age.
