Antique Cut Crystal and Silver-Mounted Scent Bottle
Europe, 19th century, 800/000, and same date marker's mark.
An elegant antique scent or perfume bottle, finely made in cut and moulded clear crystal with an elongated, shaped body and decorative scalloped edges.
The upper section is fitted with an ornate silver mount and stopper, richly hand-engraved with foliate and geometric motifs and pierced star-shaped decoration. The shaped stopper is similarly engraved, creating a particularly decorative and refined appearance.
The combination of substantial cut crystal and elaborately worked silver is characteristic of late 19th to early 20th-century dressing-table accessories. The silver shows an attractive aged patina and traces of oxidation, while the crystal presents minor signs of age and use.
No attribution or precise origin should be made without examination of any hallmarks or maker’s marks.
