An elegant antique wooden stamp box, finely decorated with elaborate silver inlay and applied silver ornaments.

The rectangular box is crafted from a rich, dark-toned wood and features delicate silver decoration across the lid, including floral corner motifs and finely worked geometric and scrolling borders. An additional silver foliate ornament decorates the front of the box.

The hinged lid opens to reveal a divided interior with six compartments, originally intended for the organisation and storage of postage stamps of different denominations.

The contrast between the warm dark wood and the bright silver decoration gives the piece a particularly refined and attractive appearance. The craftsmanship and decorative detailing are characteristic of fine antique desk and writing accessories.
