The Pioneer A-717 MK2 (Mark II) is an iconic, high-quality integrated stereo amplifier from Pioneer's legendary "Reference Stereo Amplifier" series. This heavyweight was built in the late 1980s (ca. 1988-1989) and is known for its flawless build quality, audiophile components and the ability to effortlessly control the most demanding speakers.
Main Features & Construction
Dual-Mono Construction: Internally, the amplifier is built strictly separated with two huge, cast transformers to minimize interference between the left and right channels.
Honeycomb Chassis: Pioneer used a unique honeycomb profile (Honeycomb chassis) and heavy cooling blocks to completely eliminate vibrations and resonances.
Non-Switching Type III: This switching system combines the sound quality of a Class A amplifier with the efficiency of Class B, providing a warm and highly detailed sound character.
Excellent Phono step: The built-in phono preamplifier is suitable for both MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) elements, which is very popular among vinyl enthusiasts.
