Smooth, very dense, high-quality linen fabric (likely a period “Bellora” linen or similar). The texture is perfect for supporting the enormous weight of the lace and embroidery without sagging or deforming. Renaissance lace / Venice lace (handmade): All that imposing and spectacular openwork grid that joins the medallions and decorates the edge is handmade lace. The connecting bars (the “pins” or “bridges”) and the fills in spider web stitch or Venetian stitch are evident. A tremendous job.

Cutwork and Satin Stitch: In the linen medallions there are raised embroidery (leaves and flowers in satin stitch) and cut-out parts finished with the buttonhole stitch to create the smaller openings.

Stem Stitch and Shade Stitch: Used for the details of the stems and the floral scrolls that decorate the center of the tablecloth and the napkins.

The napkins are spectacular: the corner with the lace medallion faithfully echoes the tablecloth motif, and the edge is entirely finished with a handmade fringe (garland).
