19th Century Side Table with Drawer – Victorian Style – c. 1850–1880
An elegant 19th-century side table, showcasing the timeless charm of Victorian design. Beautifully proportioned, this versatile piece combines practical storage with refined decorative appeal, making it equally suitable as a side table, lamp table or occasional table.
The table features a rectangular moulded top supported by four finely turned columns, creating an open shelf beneath that is ideal for displaying books, decorative objects or everyday essentials. A single drawer below provides additional storage and is fitted with an attractive brass escutcheon and drop pull.
The warm walnut grain and simple architectural lines give the piece a restrained elegance that complements both traditional and contemporary interiors. Its compact dimensions make it particularly well suited for smaller spaces while still offering excellent functionality.
The table remains structurally sound and displays an attractive aged patina acquired over many decades. It shows expected signs of age and use, including surface wear, scratches, marks, fading and small imperfections consistent with authentic antique furniture.
