Vintage ceiling lamp in opaline glass from France, with two asymmetrical white opaline sections featuring fine curved lines and subtle gold, ochre and reddish-brown accents, warm wooden middle pieces, two light points, a metal ceiling cap, dating to 1960–1970 in Mid-Century Modern style, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Papillons’ – sculptural vintage ceiling lamp – opaline glass
Special sculptural vintage ceiling lamp with two asymmetrically shaped opaline glass parts. Because of the graceful, organic form, the lamp resembles a butterfly; hence it is here referred to as “Papillons”.
The light-colored opaline glass is adorned with fine curved lines and subtle color accents in shades of gold, ochre, and reddish-brown among others. The warm wooden central pieces form a beautiful contrast with the glass.
The lamp has two light points. The metal ceiling cap and original construction parts are present. On one component the marking “23” was found. No maker’s name was found; therefore the lamp is offered cautiously with maker and provenance unknown.
The combination of opaline glass, wood, and the striking asymmetrical shape gives the lamp a characteristic Mid-Century look.
It is carefully packed
