Olympus PEN-EE S, good physical condition and tested and working.
Description from the seller
OLYMPUS PEN EE-S, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Olympus PEN-EE S was launched in 1962 as part of the legendary PEN half-frame family, the line started by the original 1959 Olympus PEN and designed under Yoshihisa Maitani, one of the most celebrated camera designers of the 20th century and later the creator of the Olympus OM system.
"EE" stands for Electric Eye: the camera sets exposure automatically using a selenium photocell — the meter ring surrounding the lens — so it needs no batteries at all. The EE-S refined the earlier fully fixed-focus PEN-EE by fitting a faster, sharper four-element D.Zuiko 30mm f/2.8 lens and adding a simple three-zone focusing ring made possible (and required) by the wider aperture. Programmed automatic exposure selects between the 1/40 and 1/200 shutter speeds and adjusts the aperture for you, while a guide-number ring on the lens allows manual aperture setting for flash work.
As a half-frame camera it exposes two vertical images side by side on each 35mm frame, giving 72 shots from a single 36-exposure roll — economical, and a favourite today for diptychs and street photography. Its compact, all-mechanical simplicity has made the PEN-EE S a lasting cult classic among film shooters and collectors.

Serial Number

Appearance
Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Functional
The camera operates properly.
The selenium automatic-exposure meter responds.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 0.4 OVER / EV15: 0.9 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Light seals (foam) replaced
Known Issues
1. The selenium meter reads slightly generous: measured about +0.4 EV at EV12 and +0.9 EV at EV15 — well within a usable range for negative film.
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
Important Notes for Used Items
As this is a used item, subtle imperfections may exist that are not individually described.
