Hungarian porcelain Hollóháza - Modernist statuette "Amazon on horseback" - Design Miklós Veress - 1979-1985
Splendid and refined modernist sculpture in glossy white porcelain, depicting a nude female figure on horseback (Amazon). This iconic piece of ceramic art was produced by the historic Hungarian manufactory Hollóháza in the period between 1979 and 1985. The design is by the renowned sculptor and porcelain artist Miklós Veress, known for his fluid, stylized lines and clear inspiration from late Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern. The statuette stands out for the elegance of its forms and the very high quality of the workmanship, with a glossy vitreous glaze that enhances the dynamism of the movement and the purity of the white porcelain.
