The Nikon F5 is a 35mm single-lens reflex camera with interchangeable lenses (SLR) from the Japanese company Nikon. The model was introduced in 1996, was the successor to the Nikon F4 and designed for professional use.
The camera is equipped with an autofocus system. Exposure can be fully automatic, or semi-automatic, where the user manually sets the aperture and the camera selects the corresponding shutter speed, the so-called aperture-priority, or where the user manually sets the shutter speed and the camera selects the corresponding aperture, the so-called shutter-priority. The F5 can take photos on 35mm film and can be equipped with a very extensive range of Nikkor lenses with the so-called F-mount. The model was succeeded by the Nikon F6 in 2004.
