Display Counter with Wood and Glass Structure – 1940s/1950s

An Italian handcrafted display counter dating from the 1940s or 1950s features a solid solid-wood construction with a warm natural finish that highlights a beautiful grain, probably walnut or burr.

The body is fully glazed on three sides, with clear glass panels inserted into thin metal guides designed to ensure maximum visibility of the items on display. The front features glass sliding doors with an alloy lower track system, typical of commercial furnishings of the era.

The interior presents a full-length glass shelf, which divides the display space while maintaining lightness and visual continuity.

The top shelf is made of wood with a central glass insert, a functional detail that allowed illumination or an overhead view (probably originally associated with internal lighting, still visible in the structure).

The base is fuller and darker, almost a plinth, to provide visual and structural stability to the whole.
