Beautiful antique German Joseph’s Coat glass marble, presumably manufactured in the famous glass region Thüringen/Lauscha around the turn of the 20th century.
The marble features a very colorful and characteristic Joseph’s Coat pattern, built from many wavy glass threads in red, orange, yellow-green, blue, white and dark tones. The different colors run like ribbons and spirals through the transparent glass core.
On both sides the characteristic hand finish is visible. In particular the large, original pontil is clearly recognizable. This is a feature that fits the traditional manufacture of early German handmade glass marbles.
With a diameter of 3 cm it is a nicely large specimen.
