Elegant Empire-style side table crafted in rich mahogany wood with refined gilt bronze ornaments. The round top features a beautifully green-figured marble slab with a vibrant, contrasting veining pattern, giving the table a distinctly decorative character.

The table rests on three tapered legs, connected by a gracefully shaped between-panel, which creates an elegant and harmonious silhouette.

Equipped with gilt bronze ornaments, including rosettes and swans. The swan was a beloved motif in the Empire period, especially during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte (ca. 1800–1815). The motif aligned well with the neoclassical language of that era, drawing inspiration from the art and mythology of Antiquity.

Swan imagery was associated with elegance, beauty, love, and aristocratic refinement. Additionally, the swan referred to Greek mythology, notably Zeus disguising himself as a swan to seduce Leda. This made the motif a perfect fit for the luxurious and classical character of Empire furniture.

The graceful, symmetrical form of two swans facing each other, as seen on this table, was widely used in decorative arts. Together with gilt bronze, dark mahogany, and marble tops, it forms a typical Empire ensemble.

A stylish and decorative side table that serves excellently as a lamp table, guéridon, or exclusive accent piece within both classical and eclectic interiors.
