Lambis truncata, a large spider conch specimen from Madagascar in good condition, authentic/original and dating to 2022, weighing 1235 g with dimensions of 35 × 20 × 9.5 cm and a clear plastic display stand included.
Description from the seller
Lambis truncata – Large and Impressive Specimen
A striking and generously sized specimen of Lambis truncata, appreciated for its powerful sculptural form and the characteristic digitated outer lip that gives this species its unmistakable appearance.
The shell has a broad, solid body opening into a wide and elegantly flared lip. Seven principal finger-like projections extend from the margin, accompanied by an additional smaller projection that is not fully developed, an interesting individual characteristic of this particular specimen. The long, curved digitations create a dramatic architectural silhouette and give the shell an impressive three-dimensional presence.
The aperture displays attractive warm tones ranging from soft peach and salmon pink to creamy beige, with a naturally glossy surface that catches the light beautifully. The exterior is paler and more textured, showing ivory, cream and subtle pinkish tones together with the natural growth marks and surface irregularities typical of a genuine mature shell.
The contrast between the smooth, luminous interior and the more rugged exterior makes the specimen particularly attractive when viewed from different angles.
Natural wear, minor surface marks and irregularities are present, consistent with the age and natural origin of the specimen and clearly visible in the photographs.
An imposing marine specimen suitable for shell collectors, natural history collections, Wunderkammer displays or as a distinctive decorative object.
Size: 35 × 20 × 9.5 cm
Clear plastic display stand included.
