Thorens AZ-25 – Tube Stereo Amplifier (1963)

Description:
Rare Thorens AZ-25 tube stereo amplifier, made in Switzerland in Sainte-Croix in April 1963 (Serial No. 4/96).
Kept in an exceptionally mint aesthetic condition, this unit benefited from a complete and professional restoration.

Restoration & Components:

- Filtering & Power Supply: F&T capacitors (Fischer & Tausche - Made in Germany) for the main filtering, Panasonic FC 105°C capacitor) and ultra-fast UF4007 diodes (ultra-quiet background, zero hum).

Signal Audio: Full recap (elimination of failing Hunts capacitors). Integration of Steafix precision silver mica capacitors (Silver Mica) MUD/MUH NOS and audiophile components (WIMA, Sprague, Nichicon).
- Original output transformers: Exceptional Swiss architecture with dual independent secondary windings (4 Ohm and 16 Ohm), delivering outstanding dynamics and deep bass performance.
- Endurance test: Validated after more than 3 hours of listening. Transformers remain cold, perfect thermal stability.

Tubes Included:

- Preamp: Set of 8 x ECC83 / 12AX7 Philips NOS, all measured and validated on Metrix 310 tube tester.
- Power: Quad of RCA 5763 USA tetrodes, new and matched.
- BONUS: A second Quad of RCA 5763 NOS new-in-box is included with the unit!
