Antique round coffee table made of mahogany from the Netherlands, dating to circa 1900–1910, with a 130 cm diameter and 55 cm height, in the Biedermeier antique style featuring a central column on a three-legged base.
Description from the seller
Large round living room table 130 cm solid mahogany antique
Top is cleanly glossy, polished, and undamaged.
Biedermeier style (often referred to as William IV or early 19th-century style).
Top: A large, round wooden top of mahogany (veneer).
Base: A sturdy central column (pillar foot) resting on a three-footed base.
Feet: Three spreading feet, finished with decorative woodcarving in the form of scrolls (scrolled feet) or lion’s claws.
Impressive round coffee table with a top of 130 cm in diameter. The heavy, hand-carved underframe makes this table truly special: an octagonal column on a round profiled foot, standing on a triangular plateau with indented sides and three beautifully carved volute feet with an acanthus leaf motif.
The table is 19th century, late Empire style, roughly 1820–1850. The base was lowered at a later stage to coffee-table height — very common for this type of table. This means you now have a coffee table with the quality and wood carving of an old, solid piece of furniture.
Dimensions:
Top diameter: 130 cm
Height: 55 cm
Condition: good, with signs of use typical for its age. The top is intact. In the side panel there are a few light veneer spots, see photos. Everything is sturdy and stable.
Because of its size, the table is best suited to a spacious living room or a large seating area.
Pickup in Arnhem.
