A blue and white dish, four character mark linyu tang zhi (Hall of Gem-like Jade).
17th century, early Kangxi period (1662-1722).

This fine dish depicts a scene of two fishermen having lunch on land, while a lady looks on from inside their docked fishing boat, which has nets and a line with clothing hung out to dry. The gentlemen are engaged in lively conversation, with two bowls, a larger bowl, and a pair of chopsticks between them.

The bottom has a floral border decoration, the base with a four character mark linyu tang zhi (Hall of Gem-like Jade) within a double circle.

Ref:
A blue and white bowl with the same mark is in the British Museum collection, museum number: Franks.168.a

Dimensions:
Diameter 11.4 cm, height 3.1 cm.

Condition:
Some small chipping/fritting to the edge, a visible hairline of ca. 2.6 cm and an invisible hairline of ca. 1 cm.
