Pontiac Firebird Trans Am TA 6.6, a 1979 model, located in Northern Italy, with 27,711 miles and automatic transmission.
Description from the seller
IN RISALTO:
• Iconic Pontiac Firebird Trans Am TA 6.6 from 1979
• Equipped with a new battery and newly installed exhaust tailpipes
• Tires in good condition with DOT code 2017
• Offered as a project to be revised/restored or as a spare parts/restoration base
HISTORY/PANORAMA:
The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am represents one of the most famous symbols of American car culture and late 1970s muscle cars, made immortal by its aerodynamic lines with a four-headlight front and bold graphics on the hood. This 1979 example with TA 6.6 V8 engine was purchased years ago on the Catawiki platform and has been stationary and unused for several years. It is supplied with a single key and license plates are not present.
BODYWORK/PAINTING:
The body and paint are in need of review and restoration. There are several marks, various spots with paint blooming, and areas with previous welds. Noted are the broken left door handle, the top/roof damaged in some spots, and the rear trunk mechanism that tends to jam.
INTERIOR:
The cabin is in a restoration state: the front and rear seats are damaged, the left door panel is detached and faulty, and various internal components and seals are detached or broken. The inner roof lining is damaged, the interior ventilation system does not work, and the left power window is out of use. The original air conditioning has been removed. The instrument cluster shows a false fault signal for the brake light related to the brake pedal damper.
MECHANICS:
The vehicle is drivable and the engine starts, but it requires thorough inspection and general maintenance. Sometimes starting is difficult (tending to stall) or the accelerator control tends to jam. There are reports of fluid leaks from the power steering and cooling system (water) that need to be restored. The automatic transmission is a bit slow in operation and there is slipping on takeoff. The braking system is functioning, the tires are in good condition (DOT 2017) and a new battery and new exhaust terminals have been installed.
DOCUMENTS:
The car is without plates. Only the documents shown in the photographs provided by the advertiser are supplied.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
