Elegant vintage Chinese pillbox in silver with multicolour enamels in turquoise, blue, white and red, featuring a central orange corniola cabochon on the lid and decorative side closure, measuring 4.5 × 3.5 × 1 cm, origin China, from the Fine XX century, in good condition and with renewed originality.
Description from the seller
Elegant vintage Chinese pill box in silver, characterized by refined decorative work with multicolored enamels in turquoise, blue, white and red tones.
The lid features a rich stylized floral composition, made on a finely worked background and framed by a thin cord-like motif. In the center is set a substantial oval cabochon of intense orange color, presumably carnelian, with a smooth and glossy surface, which creates a pleasant contrast with the cool tones of the enamels.
The decoration continues along the sides of the box, while the interior is lined with light blue enamel, with ornamental relief motifs on the inner part of the lid.
On the bottom the stamp “SILVER” is clearly visible, indicative of silver workmanship.
Measurements: cm 4.5x3x1. Weight: g.27.5
The pill box features a distinctive quadrilobed shaped form and a decorative side clasp. The piece bears witness to the typical taste of Chinese production also intended for the Western market, with the combination of silver, colored enamels and ornamental stones.
Good vintage condition, please observe the photographs carefully, which are an integral part of the description.
