Description from the seller
Dual CK6 / 1214 / DMS220
This combination represents a classic, vintage turntable system from the early 1970s, featuring high-quality German components from the renowned manufacturer Dual. Here is the breakdown of each component and what makes this setup special:
System Components
Dual 1214 (The Turntable/Chassis): A fully automatic, idler-wheel drive turntable produced between 1970 and 1974. It supports three speeds (33, 45, and 78 RPM) and features a pitch control knob for fine speed adjustments. It can also function as a record changer with the appropriate spindle.
Dual CK 6 (The Plinth/Console): The factory wood-grain base designed specifically to house Dual's medium-chassis turntables (such as the 1214, 1215, 1216, and 1218). It typically features a walnut or white finish that defines the iconic 70s hi-fi aesthetic.
Dual DMS 220 (The Cartridge): A Moving Magnet (MM) phono cartridge manufactured by Audio-Technica to Dual's specifications. It uses the DN 221 stylus and offers vastly superior sound quality, lower record wear, and wider frequency response compared to the basic ceramic cartridges of the era.
The tonearm has been repaired and is now working.
The stylus works, but it's in poor condition and should be replaced.
All photos are part of the description.
Given the age of the product, its operation requires attention and caution in handling.
There is no guarantee for long-term operation.
The item will be partially disassembled and prepared for transport.
This item is recommended for buyers with some experience in turntable assembly and adjustment.
Reassembly and adjustment are the buyer's responsibility.
The item will be properly packed and sent via Smart Shipping with insurance.
