6 Roman Silver Brooches – 1st–3rd Century AD – Ancient Garment Clasps – Lot
Description
For sale is an interesting lot of six Roman silver brooches (garment clasps), dated to the Roman Imperial period, roughly 1st–3rd century AD. The brooches were used to fasten clothing and were among the most important everyday items in ancient Rome. Silver brooches were considerably rarer than bronze examples and were often worn by wealthier individuals.
The lot comprises six different brooches or brooch fragments with signs of wear due to age. Some items are fully preserved, others show loss or missing pins, as clearly visible in the photos. The original patina and visible aging traces emphasize the authentic archaeological character of the objects.
An attractive collector’s lot for enthusiasts of Roman antiquities and a nice addition to any archaeological collection.
