The table is built from several solid planks. The top clearly shows the traditional handcrafted construction: visible joints, large dark metal fastenings, natural irregularities in the wood, as well as signs of age and use.
Particularly appealing is the underside construction. Four sturdy turned wooden legs are stabilized by curved iron struts. This combination of solid hardwood and functional iron hardware is found in traditional Indian low platform- and Takhat-tables.
