Christofle is a French silversmithing and tableware company, founded in Paris in 1830 by Charles Christofle.
The company is known for having introduced electroplating (gilding and silver plating) in France in 1842. The company was acquired in 2012 by one of its shareholders, the Chalhoub family luxury group.
Maison Christofle relies on manufacturing that is entirely handmade, following traditional techniques. The precious crafts of turning-repoussé, planishing, chasing, and engraving, continued by its Master Silversmiths and Best Craftsmen of France, immortalize the elegance and excellence of all Christofle pieces.
