Beautifully woven rug from Romania, made around the 1980s, rug named Gherla or Erivan, a type of carpets whose production was encouraged by the regime at the time to boost exports. Wool on cotton, with their classic iconography that evokes Persian carpets, in full pile, in good overall condition, vegetal dyes. Signed, and, still rare, with a metal label giving the export dimensions. Edges reinforced and anti-slip.
