An original Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) wine bottle holder by Urania Maastricht, model 1075, dating from circa 1902–1910, made of silver-plated metal.
Description from the seller
A particularly attractive original Art Nouveau / Jugendstil wine bottle holder by Urania Maastricht, model 1075, dating from the early 20th century.
The holder features a characteristic openwork Jugendstil design with elegant organic lines and stylised floral motifs. Its flowing forms and symmetrical decoration are highly representative of the Art Nouveau period.
The piece is made of silver-plated metal and bears the original impressed factory mark on the underside:
URANIA
1075
Urania was a Maastricht manufacturer of artistic metalware, active for only a relatively short period at the beginning of the 20th century. The company is particularly known for its high-quality Jugendstil designs.
Considering its age, the wine bottle holder is in beautiful antique condition, with normal signs of age and use. The silver-plated finish remains attractive and has been carefully cleaned and polished. Minor scratches, small pits and local signs of wear are visible, consistent with the age and history of the piece.
An elegant and distinctive collector’s item for enthusiasts of Art Nouveau, Jugendstil and early 20th-century Dutch design.
